Leanne Standryk earned her Bachelor of Arts from Carleton University in 1993, obtained her LL.B from the University of Western Ontario in 1999, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1998. She spent time as a Legal Consultant for the Ministry of the Attorney General in Toronto before joining Lancaster, Mix & Welch (now Lancaster Brooks & Welch) as an associate shortly thereafter. Leanne was a member of a local panel instrumental in the organization of the local “Courts in the Classroom” initiative, developed to educate the youth of our community about the justice system. She teaches the Sports Law Course for Brock University’s Sports Management/Sports Law mentoring program.
Outside of work, Leanne is involved in numerous competitive sports, both as an athlete and a coach. Leanne is also a community champion for the True Sport Movement, a national movement of communities and groups across Canada working to ensure a positive, meaningful, and enriching experience for all who participate in sport. Leanne provides leadership by actively educating and engaging surrounding municipalities and local groups into the True Sport Movement.
