Construction Liens
A construction lien is a security interest in the title to property for the benefit of those who have supplied labor or materials that improve the property. In Ontario, in order to take advantage of the special statutory protections that construction trades receive under the Construction Lien Act, there are strict timeframes which must be complied with for the registration of liens. We assist owners, contractors and subcontractors with navigating the requirements under the Act, both to ensure their compliance with the law and the protection of their legal rights.
