The 5th Annual Mr and Miss Pride Niagara Pageant takes place at Envy Lounge on May 31 starting at 10 pm. Watch as the 2014 contestants take the stage to compete for the titles of Mr Pride Niagara and Miss Pride Niagara and become the ambassador for Pride Niagara for the year hosted by Miss Claudia Silva. Catch the annual celebration of pride in St. Catharines at the Annual Flag Raising Ceremony at the City Hall on June 2 at 2pm and head to Niagara Falls to see the 2nd Annual Rainbow Lighting cast on Niagara Falls at 9pm and 10 pm on June 2.
The Niagara Unity Awards is a new event by Pride Niagara and celebrates the success of individuals and groups who have made an impact for the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) community in Niagara. On June 4 at 6pm the awards ceremony begins at Amici’s Banquet Hall & Conference Centre, 2740 Merrittville Highway, Thorold. The evening starts with a winery reception withHernder Estate Winery, includes a formal three course dinner, silent auction and live entertainment by Female Delusionist “Extra-Ordinaire” Miss Conception. The event is hosted by Degrassi – The Next Generation and The Next Star, Canadian LGBT rights activist Adamo Ruggieo! The night will present the following awards The Ed Eldred Award, The Johnathon Crawford Award, Community Involvement Unity Award, Volunteer Excellence Unity Award, Outstanding Young Person Award and more.
